Amazon MCF vs FBA: what sets them apart?

FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) ensures worldwide access for orders placed on Amazon, supports prompt shipping options like Prime’s one-day or same-day delivery, and handles returns along with other post-purchase activities. It charges a flat rate per unit, with extra fees for storage and extra services.
MCF (Multi-Channel Fulfillment) operates in select areas for non-Amazon sales, offers various delivery speeds, and charges based on package size, weight, and shipping speed. Unlike FBA, MCF orders can be sent in unbranded boxes for non-Amazon sales, but sellers are responsible for customer service and handling returns.

Can I switch from FBA to MCF or vice versa?

With FBA and MCF working side by side, no switching is required. You only need to update your inventory settings and fulfillment preferences in Seller Central. It’s important to note that FBA is specifically for Amazon orders, while MCF allows you to handle orders from other marketplaces (like TikTok Shop, eBay, etc.) using Amazon’s logistics. What are MCF Amazon fees?

Additionally, Amazon imposes monthly storage fees, which are calculated based on the amount of warehouse space your inventory occupies.

Do I need a unique MCF ASIN on Amazon?

Creating separate ASINs for MCF orders isn’t necessary. When you fulfill orders through MCF, the ASINs from your existing Amazon FBA listings are automatically utilized to process orders from other marketplaces. By using the same ASINs, you maintain uniformity and reduce the complexity of handling multi-channel orders.

Can I use Amazon MCF to export to Canada through M2E?

M2E Cloud integrates with Amazon MCF international services and lets you handle orders from off-Amazon platforms like Ecwid and WooCommerce based on FBA stock, including shipments to Canada. BigCommerce Amazon MCF app, as well as integration with Shopify, will be available soon in M2E Cloud.

Outstanding Support and a Great Product!

M2E has provided us with the best customer experience that we’ve have ever had! Initially we had some changes we wanted made to better suit us and our systems. We reached out via support and worked together to create the perfect synchronization between our Amazon and Wal-Mart stores with our Big Commerce site. They even created new options inside their platform from our discussions. These include the ability to turn off tax import on Amazon orders where tax is paid and collected by Amazon and also turn off shipping cost import on Amazon FBA orders when we do not collect shipping. Before, we would have to remove these from orders after import. The orders import flawlessly now! Applications and integrations always require some tweaking while some just never work at all. M2E has listened to our needs and worked with us to create an integration that we are extremely happy with! It wasn’t perfect out of the box, but nothing we have ever used has been. However, having a support team that is eager to improve their product and works with you to make it right is the way it should be. Other integrations should strive to be what M2E has been and continues to be for us.. reliable, available and willing to listen!
